  • CINEMAX II

  • Applications of neutrons and synchrotron radiation in nanoscience. UCPH Summer school.

    Characterising the smallest structures in natural and manmade materials in order to understand their properties and structural evolution we have to use the largest instruments producing high flux beams of neutrons and X-ray radiation. During the last 2-3 decades, the facilities have gotten increasingly advanced and powerful. These years are especially exciting in Scandinavia, since two new facilities, European Spallation Source (neutron facility) and MAX-IV Laboratory  (X-ray synchrotron facility), will be opened for the scientific community. We will then have world-class facilities for probing nanoscale structures in our “backyard”.

    At Lund University (MoReLife and Imaging of 3D structures), MAX4ESSFUN, MAX IV and ESS invite researchers from all over the Öresund - Kattegat - Skagerrak region to a "Protein Science Day".

  • MAX4ESSFUN Annual Meeting 2016

    Annual Meeting 2016 The main objectives of this meeting are to present the ongoing research with neutrons and synchrotron light in the region and to offer a meeting place for the region’s scientists and other interested to meet, network and discuss science and potential future collaborations.
    The meeting is divided into four main sessions. After a general information session, we will focus on three scientific themes:  Imaging, Structural biology and Materials science

  • International Workshop: Synchrotron and Neutron Scattering in Biomaterials and Soft Matter

    The aim of the workshop is to gather a community of current and future users of neutron scattering within the cross-interdisciplinary areas of biology and soft matter. The idea is to show the mutual benefit when traditional methodologies from soft matter sciences are brought together and applied to biological systems.
    Deadline for submission of abstract is September 9, 2016 and for registration is October 11, 2016.

    Nordic Workshop on Scattering from Soft & Biological Matter'. The workshop will bring together both young and experienced scientists in the nordic region with a shared interest in soft materials consisting of synthetic and biological components, and scattering techniques based on light, X-rays or neutrons.

Mapping of Courses

We collected information about relevant courses and projects at the partner universities related to X-ray and Neutron scattering at large scale research facilities.
A mapping of courses at the universities has been done. Based on this, a search facility will be developed enabling users to search for courses related to neutrons and synchrotron light.
