ESS & MAX IV: Cross Border Science and Society

was a three-year project involving 27 partners within the Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak region.
A primary goal was to increase the regional potential to exploit the unique large-scale research facilities MAX IV and ESS - European Spallation Source.

MAX4ESSFUN was a cooperation between 8 universities, MAX IV and ESS. Collaborative research across national borders for researchers using neutron and synchrotron light was supported. MAX4ESSFUN provided direct support for PhD student and postdoc projects, courses, workshops and summer schools.

MAX4ESSFUN results:

194 experiments using neutron and synchrotron light was supported educating PhDs and postdocs in the tools used at the large research facilities. This is 1200 months of training for the young researchers and almost 600 months of supervision  from senior researchers.
